Pitch Perfect: No resumes, no cover letter, no problem

So you are wanting to go to the Non-Profit Job Fair on 30 January and the Career Expo on 5 and 6 February, but you are a bit nervous about talking to employers.  You think to yourself, “What do I say to them?”, “How do I make them interested in me?”, “I get so nervous…..what do I do?”  Well have we got just the event for you!!!

The NDSU Career Center will be offering a practice night, “Pitch Perfect”, to give students the opportunity PRACTICE their introduction and “elevator pitch”.  Employers will be available to help students by providing feedback in order to help build confidence in these conversations.  If you want to get a head start on developing your elevator pitch, watch the short video at the end of this post.

When:  January 31st, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm

Where:  Hidatsa Room, Upper Level of the Memorial Union

Who: Any and every NDSU student

What:  A unique opportunity to meet with and practice a pitch to employers from throughout our community.

Students are welcome to stop by throughout the event (stop by for 10 minutes or the whole 2 hours) or can register ahead of time through CAREERlink.  By registering ahead of time, students will be offered “fast track” admittance and won’t have to wait in line as long to see employers (we will be limiting the number of students in the space at one time).  Sign up ahead of time to make the most out of this event. Students that attend will also be entered to win padfolios to increase their “professional look” for future events and opportunities!
