Assistant Director of Employer Engagement
Smita Garg works with a resourceful, talented and hard-working team in engaging with internal and external stakeholders to prepare NDSU students for maximum employability. She understands the value of building relationships and is passionate about creating opportunities and connections to fulfill the Center’s ‘career everywhere’ vision, locally and globally.
Smita holds an MBA in International Marketing from Temple University, Philadelphia, and her career has ranged from being a ‘domestic engineer’ to working in the manufacturing sector, language service business, market research industry, immigrant serving agencies, and various aspects of the career services field at a direct service, project and policy level. In her most recent role with government, her primary accomplishment was the development and implementation of an Immigration Action Plan for the City of Saskatoon.
Multi-lingual, with an interest in culture, travel, and unity in diversity, she has lived in six countries over four continents. She recently moved to Fargo with her husband Adi. Their three daughters, Aditi (Chris), Avni and Aneri who live in Canada are her inspiration. Guest Services & Employer Relations Specialist
As the Guest Services & Employer Relations Specialist, Bridget touches every facet in the Career Center office from managing the front desk operations, training the amazing Career Peers and collaborating with Employee Engagement, Technology and Recruiting teams. They thrive on keeping their Career Fairs fresh, energetic and resourceful for all stakeholders. Prior to working at NDSU, Bridget was employed with Fargo Public Schools for 12 years. After hours, Bridget and her husband, Kevin, enjoy travel, cycling and attending a variety of cultural and sporting events. Most treasured is spending time with their daughters; Jess (Eric) and Lindsey (Brian).
Events and Marketing Coordinator
As the Events and Marketing Coordinator, Amanda oversees logistics of planning, implementing, and marketing a variety of career fairs and special events to support both student and employer success. Passionate about event planning, Amanda has experience planning a multitude of events both large and small. With ten years of combined experiences and opportunities as an event planner, marketer, and graphic designer, Amanda values the opportunity to be creative while also creating positive experiences for event participants and guests. She values connections with people and is very active in the Fargo/Moorhead and NDSU community. Amanda currently serves on the Fargo Theatre Board of Directors, Startup Weekend Planning Team, and on NDSU Staff Senate. In her pasttime, Amanda enjoys biking with her husband and relaxing with her two cats.
